I absolutely agree with Elizabeth Pendleton’s 2022 review of this figure. Despite the fact that PNSO have released a large number of amazing new or updated figures in the intervening years, I think the observation is still true. This is still very much one of the most exquisite and beautiful figures in the PNSO range.

For me this is probably the best (plastic) model PNSO has ever produced – and I have a large collection of their output. The detail is superb – even the pads of the feet are covered in tiny scales. The wrinkles over his body give a feeling of movement and bulk. It’s a satisfyingly large and heavy model, but you would need to examine it very carefully indeed to find any traces of seams. The factory paint job is superb. The sober colours suit a hefty sauropod, but don’t mistake “sober” for “boring”. There is a great deal of variation within the beige to dark brown tones, and the areas of orange-brick round its limbs lift it beautifully. All the colours, including the brick, are beautifully blended, so everything looks natural. The blue on the tail tip is also a master-stroke. The quality of paint application is outstanding – for instance the teeth are minute, but there is no bleeding of white into unwanted areas, and the same goes for the life-like tiny and shiny black eye. There’s nice colour gradation on the claws too, so they look very natural. PNSO’s packaging is perfect for protecting it in transit (especially the thin tail, compared to the bulky, stout body which could so easily squash and deform the tail is left unrestrained). In short, a superlative model. We’re waited a long time for a large sauropod from PNSO – and it’s magnificent. Highly recommended. Now I want them to make another sauropod!
