William Shields (verified owner) –
Collecta’s Saltriovenator zanellai.
Is the first ever production model of Italy’s premier apex theropod.
This may be Collecta’s finest release from their 1/40 scale deluxe collection.
Saltrio’s Head sculpt is really eye please what a classical theropod should be just perfection.
A grand length not to long nor too short just correct.
From the dark eyes to nicely captured ears to those carefully thought out nasal/eye horn crests.
The jaw opens & closes nicely.
Skin & muscle first rate an the colour and markings are inspired
Lovely grey body and green stripes just set the entire sculpt off.
Nice tail just the right length for a 1/40 scale theropod figure.
Legs are spot on and the feet not to big to spoil the look or too small to cause falling over issues.
Tho delayed due the presents pandemic it was really worth the wait and a fantastic price for a premier model.
May I take this moment to thank Sue & Mike and their entire team at Every Thing Dinosaur for all they done during these unsettling times. WE THANK YOU ALL DEEPLY FOR BEING THE BEST OF THE BEST THAT IS EVERYTHING DINOSAUR.
Now for a little Bio on the
Caesar of the Jurassic.
From the Early Jurassic Sinemurian stage a time period of 196-200 million years ago.
First uncovered in 1996 by
Amateur paleontologist Angelo Zanella while he was hunting for fossils in the Salnova marble quarry of Saltrio, northern Italy.
The fossil was of a sub adult of about one ton and was badly destroyed by blasting at the quarry and took over twenty years of restoration.
With the Discovery that foreshadows the coming
of the Classical big predators dinosaurs by 25-30 millions years.
From the clade Ceratosauria.
December 2018 the Name & type specimen was offically released by
Dal Sasso, Simone Maganuco and Andrea Cau.
